CVE-2026-4740Rhacm: open cluster management (ocm): cross-cluster privilege escalation via improper kubernetes client certificate renewal validation

Updated under an hour ago ()

Does this affect you?

It affects Red Hat multicluster engine for Kubernetes 2.1 and 1 other product. Add what you run to find out whether that includes you.

No exploitation reported and no EPSS estimate yet.

A flaw was found in Open Cluster Management (OCM), the technology underlying Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM). Improper validation of Kubernetes client certificate renewal allows a managed cluster administrator to forge a client certificate that can be approved by the OCM controller. This enables cross-cluster privilege escalation and may allow an attacker to gain control over other managed clusters, including the hub cluster.

The CVE record is authoritative. Products marked “from the name” were identified from the CNA's free-text names, not a CPE, and are matched less certainly. This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.
