CVE-2026-5172CVE-2026-5172

Updated under an hour ago ()

Does this affect you?

It affects dnsmasq and 2 other products. Add what you run to find out whether that includes you.

No exploitation reported and no EPSS estimate yet.

A buffer overflow in dnsmasq’s extract_addresses() function allows an attacker to trigger a heap out-of-bounds read and crash by exploiting a malformed DNS response, enabling extract_name() to advance the pointer past the record’s end.
